Cindy Olohou is associate curator of the exhibition Sur la route des chefferies du Cameroun, du visible à l'invisible, which is being held at the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, from 5 April 2022 to 17 July 2022.

The exhibition focuses on the art of the communities established in the highlands of the Grassfields, in western Cameroon. Monumental architecture, blacksmithing, beadwork, woodcarving, textile production, traditional dances... A unique and historic heritage, carefully guarded for centuries by traditional chiefs. These quasi-divine figures are the main guardians of this heritage, guaranteeing both tradition and the link between the world of the ancestors and the living.

As part of a collective approach to safeguarding and promoting traditional heritage, and in collaboration with the association La Route des Chefferies, the exhibition features nearly 300 works, including 260 treasures kept by several chiefs and family lineages. Punctuated by works by contemporary Cameroonian artists, it highlights the cultural influence of the chieftaincies on contemporary art and the living dimension of this heritage, along a route designed as a dive into the heart of Bamileke society.
